Valentine FC competes in the NNSW National Premier League (NPL) and Australia Cup competitions. Coached by qualified coaches under direction of the club’s technical director, Cas Wright, these teams are the premier teams of the club. Our senior squad comprises 30 players in our first grade and reserve grade teams.

In 2025, we’re proud to have Stone Real Estate Warners Bay as major sponsor for our senior NPL squad. Other sponsors include Montgomery Homes, Jax Tyres and Auto Warners Bay and Valentine Bowling Club.

The Premier Youth League (PYL) is Northern NSW Football’s talented player pathway for players U13 to U18. The program is designed to further develop and improve players’ games, preparing them for senior NPL football.

Players train three nights each week, supervised by our talented, qualified coaching staff. The PYL squad largely comprises players who have come through our Junior Development League program, building on our culture of ‘promoting from within’, something we pride ourselves on throughout the club. Hard work and dedication at training and on game day is key – we expect a lot from our players, but the rewards are worth it as players progress through our ranks.

From 2025, Alfabs joins the club as the Major Sponsor for our Premier Youth League teams. Other sponsors include Cardiff Veterinary Hospital, Rehab Matters and Montgomery Homes.

community
football

Valentine FC’s Community Football program is one of the largest programs in the Lake Macquarie region, with over 700 registered players last season and growing each year. The program offers the opportunity for player of all ages and abilities to enjoy our great game.

Miniroos provides opportunities for boys and girls aged between 5 to 11 to play small-sided football games. Players and parents alike will learn the basics of football, make new friends, have a lot of fun, and get some exercise to boot! We provide coaching sessions and run all games in a relaxed environment where the aim is to teach new skills to each individual player, and promote teamwork, in an enjoyable way.

Smaller fields, modified rules and fewer players mean a more enjoyable game with increased opportunities to touch the ball and to score goals. As players progress through the age groups, the playing environments (field size and ball size) are modified to suit their stage of development and prepare them for the transition to 11 v 11 football.

Our Community Football Program provides opportunities for players aged 12 and upwards to enjoy football with their mates. Our community teams compete in the combined competition run by our three local zones, Macquarie, Newcastle Port Stephens and Hunter Valley. All teams are graded based on their ability and there is a promotion / relegation policy in place for the Divisions. The community competition commences with the U12’s to Over 35’s, Competition is open to males and females equally.

Excitingly, from 2023 onwards we welcome Montgomery Homes as our Major Sponsor for Community Football and Nadin West Joinery as our Women’s Football Sponsor, something that will see our football programs go from strength to strength, benefiting players and the community alike.

Other sponsors include Agility Professional Tree Services, When Financial and Chemist Hub Valentine.
